My mum turned 60!  She is having a year of celebrations, including spending a week at the Captain Morse House in Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard, where she invited women from every part of her life to join her for a retreat.

Women came from far and wide, boarding planes, trains, and boats for the event.  It was really special to see the sisterhood form between these women who were connected only by their love for my mom!

On Saturday, we had a big party – we invited a few gentleman to join us – with food catered by Mum’s good friend Jaime, wine provided by her sister, flowers catered by her bestie, I baked a cake as a surprise (with 60 candles!), and lots and lots of wonderful stories.

Basically, it was everything you’d want in a birthday celebration.
