Travel

If you are flying in from out of town, there are two airports to chose from, both are a little over an hour from the hotel:

Logan airport (BOS) is in Boston.  It’s a major international airport.  If you’re planning on exploring the city while you’re here, Logan is accessible by public transportation. (directions to the hotel)

Manchester airport (MHT) is in southern New Hampshire.  It’s a regional airport, and thus pretty low hassle, although there are fewer flight options.  If you’re planning on enjoying the foliage, this is a great option, even the drive from the airport to the hotel should be spectacular! If you’re not planning on renting a car, there are several options for transportation to and from the airports.  One is Little Town Limo.  If you have any questions, just get in contact with Molly or Matthew and we can make recommendations.

The DoubleTree is only about 15 minutes from the Fitchburg Armory.  (directions)

Where To Stay

Unfortunately, the block of rooms we reserved at the DoubleTree (formally the Four Points Sheraton) in Leominster is all booked up!

What To Do

October is a beautiful time of year in central Massachusetts!  The fall foliage is vibrant, and “leaf peepers” flock to the area to take in the view.  There are lots of opportunities for apple picking, hay rides, and corn mazes in the area.

You may also consider driving into Boston to enjoy many of the sights of our historic city!  Walking the Freedom Trail (with a detour to Mike’s Pastries) is one of Molly’s favorite things to do with visitors.  There’s hands-on fun and learning to be had at the Boston Aquarium, the Museum of Science, or the Children’s Museum.  Or take in some art at the Isabella Stuart Gardener Museum (Molly’s favorite), the Boston Museum of Fine Art, or the Institute of Contemporary Art.

Transportation

Transportation will be provided from the DoubleTree to the wedding before the ceremony, and back to the hotel throughout the reception.

There will be a shuttle leaving the DoubleTree at 3, and again at 3:30. It’s a school bus, which will pick you up in front of the hotel. After dinner, the bus will start doing shuttles back on the half hour (7:30, 8:30, etc)

Parking

You are welcome to park at the DoubleTree and use the shuttle (see above), but there is also ample street parking around the Armory.
