It snowed in February.  A lot. 65 inches and four snow days days of snow.

Game night poster, made by one of my talented neighbors.

Tony loved it.  Everyone else was not as excited.  I feel like everyone in the whole region is sort of cranky, and it’s hard to keep your chin up when it’s so disgusting out.  Everything is just harder!  On the plus side: I was really grateful for our awesome building!  Not only do we not need to worry about ice dams, but we can park both of our cars in our garage spot, and our condo fees take care of snow removal.  And the people are great!  We had dinner parties with our neighbors, game night, and there was even a concert in the mailroom!

Casa de Pedro for Billy’s Birthday.

Other February excitement includes:

We celebrated some birthdays: we had a family dinner out for my step-dad, Bill’s birthday, and a friend’s dinner out for Meaghan’s birthday.  Our niece, Julia turned two, and we couldn’t be there to celebrate, but I had fun picking out a present for her and we Skyped.

Snowy Valentine’s Day dinner

Meryl hosted a great “baby sprinkle” to celebrate Jess and Rob and Micah’s growing family.

I was supposed to visit my cousin and her family over Valentine’s weekend, but cancelled the trip because of the snow.  Instead, Matthew took me out to dinner.

And meanwhile, in the Caribbean, my sister and Alex GOT ENGAGED!  Super excited!  But not at all surprised.  Seriously, guys, it was about time!

I learned that my grandma is pretty sick, and I’ve started to make plans to visit her in Texas.

Leah, Geoff, and baby Bea (Sasha is not pictured – she was building LEGO)

Geoff and his family visited town, and I got to meet his sweet baby, Bea!

We went to an Amanda Fucking Palmer concert with Karl and Kathy.  Matthew loves her.  For good reason: She’s a great entertainer! But a lot of her songs make me feel sort of sad.

Matthew went out with Doug, who departed for new adventures in Las Vegas.

I wrapped up my weekly Spanish classes (and I’m looking for recommendations for next-steps in learning).

Despite all the good moments, I’m ready to move on to March.  February is always my least favorite month.
