95 days and counting

Hi everyone,

You might not know (for some reason the count-down on the site counts months, not days) but Matthew and I will be married in 95 days!  Double digits!  This felt like a HUGE DEAL ten days ago, when our count-down had three digits, but now that the milestone has passed it feels less momentous.  I’m thankful for that.  It had me sort of stressed out.

Everything is going well.  So far the biggest headache has been my hair -which is nothing in the scheme of things!  I had my siblings all stuffing envelopes over the long-weekend, so they’re all ready to be delivered to the post office mid-August.  Bill is working on figuring out transportation for our lovely guests to and from the hotel.  I’m starting to think about the littler details – my sweet man is excited that we’ve reached this stage, because he knows I’ll like it.

We’ve been thinking a lot about our wonderful friends and family, and how we can best host you and thank you for all your love.

The celebration will be here before we know it!

Invitations!

I just returned from Chicago, where I spent the weekend with my aunt, Polly, designing, printing, and assembling our wedding invitations.

Shopping at Paper-Source!

My apologies to all of the people I would have liked to see in Chicago – it was a quick trip, and super focused.  We did a lot!

I have to say, it was just what I needed.  Two days, one task, no distractions.

The finished product is BEAUTIFUL!  I couldn’t be more pleased.

I’m also feeling pretty emotional about these because they were a real collaboration with Polly, who is a beautiful artist.  Polly won’t be there to celebrate with us in October, so to have her so deeply involved means a lot to Matthew and me.  She is a really important person in my life.  I have learned, and continue to learn so much from her!  Several times over the weekend I felt overwhelmed with gratitude.

Thank you, Poppy!

Another Wedding

We just returned from a week on beautiful Anna Maria Island in Florida, which was all about a wedding – but not our wedding!  Molly’s dear friend (and bridesmaid), Ashley, married her sweetheart, Hal, on the beach.  It was beautiful!

Now we are returned and there is a lot going on!  In addition to having a gazillion loads of sandy laundry to do, this week we’re also working on invitations, timelines, and some attention on Molly’s wedding dress and hair!

110 days!

Engagement Party

Molly’s parents threw us a Cinco de Mayo themed engagement party early on in May.  Our amazing friend, Meryl catered it for us as a generous and entirely delicious wedding gift!  There were flowers and drinks and all kinds of friends and family.  There were also goats.  And a birthday cake.  Enjoy the slideshow!

March – April

Here are some things that have come to pass in the last month:

Molly has her wedding dress!

We drove from Reno, Nevada to Dallas, Texas, towing the Airstream! We cruised down The Strip in Las Vegas, we explored the caverns in Carlsbad (they wouldn’t let us take the Pod down there though), and we ate like kings in Walmart parking lots!

Matthew was introduced to Molly’s dad and his wife, Rollie and Sherry, and to her grandmother, Rita!

Exciting stuff!
